Mustikkakallio in English
Mustikkakallio (Blueberry Rock) is an exclusive holiday residence in the traditional Finnish countryside. The villa was built in 2014.It is located in a peaceful place on a lake shore, on the top of a high hill. The sunny yard is surrounded by beautiful woods, which guarantees your privacy. The surrounding area has been preserved as natural as possible and the villa was built with natural materials.
The interior is spacious and the colouring has been inspired by the surrounding nature. With its timeless and modern furnishing, the villa is suitable for 8-10 guests.
There is a great window wall that brings the nature and the enchanting scenery right into the rooms. The big terrace around the villa is a great place to enjoy the peace and quiet, observing the nature. On a chilly evening you can gather by the fireplace either inside or outside the building.
Downstairs there is a spacious living room/kitchen, hall , 2 bedrooms with double beds (160 cm and 120 cm) and a small bedroom (bed 80 cm) that is separated from the living room by a folding door. Upstairs you find an another living room with 4 beds (80 cm).
There is a laundry room complete with a washing machine and a dryer. There is also a sauna with an electric stove and a bathroom with two showers. The villa has geothermal underfloor heating and an automatic air conditioning system with heat recovery. The end towards the lake is a big glass wall and gives a magnificent view to the lake and the surrounding nature.
The 90 m2 terrace is built alongside three of the walls and it is equipped with a fireplace and a gas grill. On the lake shore there is also a sauna with a traditional wood-burning stove. The sauna has a fireplace room with a kitchenette and underfloor heating, tv and a couch/spare bed for two. From the sauna you take sturdy wooden stairs to the beach and to the sunbathing dock. The sandy beach opens up towards west, the slope is first gentle but deepens fast. At the beach sauna you wash up with the lake water. When the lake is open you can pump the water to the sauna, but when it's frozen the water is carried in the traditional way, in buckets straight from a hole in ice.
